About Akiya Maston Ed.S.

Author, Educator, Motivational Speaker

After earning my B.A. in Psychology and M.A. in Human Resources, I discovered my true calling as an educator. The moment I stepped into a classroom, I felt a deep sense of purpose. I spent ten years teaching, earned my Educational Specialist degree, and another 10 years as an administrator. I'm currently the proud principal of an elementary school in Estero, Florida!

Throughout my 20 years in education, I have developed several learning resources, including Music to Mastery—a program that helps elementary students learn geography through 11 engaging songs and maps (musictomastery.com). I also wrote, The Wonder Years of Middle School, which is a book designed to help middle school students have a successful and meaningful experience. And my latest book, The Sleepover That Went Oh, So Terribly Wrong!, is a wild and hilarious adventure that explores themes like peer pressure, fitting in, and self-worth.

Education is my passion, it is my purpose, and I will continue to work hard to ensure students are reaching their maximum potential!
